Carlos Tellez is Senior Advisor to Socorro Partners where he works with the firm’s consulting practice. In February 2024, Socorro Partners and Carlos Tellez, a renowned LATAM strategy consultant, formed a strategic partnership to accelerate the firm’s growth plan in LATAM and strengthen its overall strategy consulting capacity. Prior to becoming a consultant, Carlos held top executive roles at three conglomerates for nearly 20 years. He has extensive board experience through his directorships at companies in a wide spectrum of industries over the last 25 years. His firsthand CEO experience provides the most direct understanding of strategy execution, which is generally beyond the traditional view of many consultants and academics.

As a strategy consultant over the last decade, Carlos has worked with boards, CEOs, and executive teams as a valued advisor to dozens of companies, including the LATAM businesses of Fortune 500 and other large, international companies. His experience ranges from formulating corporate and competitive strategies to defining growth strategies and identifying key opportunities to accelerate execution. Carlos is also a professional coach certified by Newfield Network, an institution accredited by the International Coach Federation.

Given his roles as an international speaker, adjunct professor at recognized business schools, and frequent contributor to business media in LATAM, Carlos has been prolific in generating content that will now become part of Socorro Partners through this alliance.

Carlos holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, graduate degrees in economics and philosophy, and a Doctoral degree in Business Administration from IE Business School in Spain where he majored in strategy and decision making and graduated with honors. He has also completed a variety of executive education coursework, which include programs at Harvard Business School, The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Stanford Graduate School of Business, the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, London Business School, University of Cambridge, and Columbia Business School.
