Sam Chakraborty is a Senior Advisor to the Advisory practice at Socorro Partners. Based in New York City, he is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of multi-industry experience in value creation, spanning the strategy-execution-transformation space as well as transaction advisory (M&A, integrations, recaps), in consultative and in-house executive capacities. His experience includes business transformation, network rationalization, strategic planning, performance improvement, process optimization, as well as operational diligence, 100-day planning, exit-readiness, related to transactions. He has worked across multiple industries such as financial services, oil & gas, telecom, manufacturing, airlines, trucking, life sciences, non-profits in education, central banking, and defense.​

Having led initiatives ranging from operational excellence deployments and merger integrations for large corporate clients to M&A, integrations, exits, and recaps for middle-market private equity firms, Sam brings a broad range of experience. Prior to joining Socorro Partners, he led BDO’s Performance Improvement and Operational Turnaround practice and served as the US Food Industry Group leader. Before BDO, he was the Chief Transformation Officer and a member of the management committee at Berkadia, a Berkshire Hathaway and Jefferies joint venture.

Sam has an undergraduate degree in Naval Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology and a graduate degree in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology – Rolla​; and he has completed executive education programs at Harvard University.
