Sam is a Managing Director based in the Greater New York City area. He is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of multi-industry experience in value creation, spanning the strategy-execution-transformation space as well as transaction advisory (M&A, integrations, recaps), in consultative and in-house executive capacities. His expertise includes business transformation, network rationalization, strategic planning, performance improvement, process optimization, as well as operational diligence, 100-day planning, exit-readiness, related to transactions. He is a seasoned leader with over 20 years of multi-industry experience in value creation, spanning the strategy-execution-transformation space as well as transaction advisory (M&A, integrations, recaps), in consultative and in-house executive capacities. His expertise includes business transformation, network rationalization, strategic planning, performance improvement, process optimization, as well as operational diligence, 100-day planning, exit-readiness, related to transactions. He has worked across multiple industries such as financial services, oil & gas, telecom, manufacturing, airlines, trucking, life sciences, non-profits in education, central banking and defense.
Sam has led initiatives ranging from operational excellence deployments, merger integrations for large corporate clients, to M&A, integrations, exits and recaps for private equity clients in the middle market. Prior to joining Socorro Partners, Sam lead BDO’s Performance Improvement and Operational Turnaround practice, and was the US Food Industry Group leader. Prior to BDO, Sam served as the Chief Transformation Officer and member of the management committee for Berkadia, a Berkshire Hathaway and Jefferies joint venture.
Sam has an undergraduate degree in Naval Architecture from the Indian Institute of Technology and a graduate degree in mechanical engineering from the Missouri University of Science and Technology – Rolla; and he has completed executive education programs at Harvard University.
